Lecture on Nano Medicine

A lecture on "Nano Medicine" was held on January 10, 2025, at the Bijoy Auditorium organized by MPH Program, Faculty of Medical Studies, BUP. The event featured Professor Jamal Uddin, a renowned Professor of Chemistry, Department of Natural Sciences, and the Founding Director of the Center for Nanotechnology at Coppin State University, USA. Dean, Faculty of Medical Studies, Brig Gen Mizanur Rahman Khan, SGP, MPHIL, MPH, FRSH, and Students of MPH as well as faculty members were present in the lecture session.

During the presentation, Professor Uddin highlighted the remarkable innovations of nanotechnology over the years. He traced the origins of the field, acknowledging the visionaries who first conceptualized the idea of nanotechnology and laid the groundwork for its revolutionary advancements.

The lecture focused on the transformative applications of nanotechnology in medicine, particularly in the emerging field of nanomedicine. Professor Uddin explained how nanoscale medicines are reshaping cancer treatment through methods like immunotherapy, offering targeted and effective solutions with minimal side effects. He also discussed the use of nanotechnology in enhancing diagnostic tools, such as MRI, to achieve higher  accuracy and efficiency in medical imaging.

In addition to its medical applications, the professor touched on the broader implications of nanotechnology across various scientific domains, emphasizing its transformative impact on healthcare and beyond.
