Biography

With a distinguished 28-year career in the Bangladesh Army,Lt Colonel Sarder Ali Haider, BSP have honed his expertise in administration,program management support, financial management, knowledge building, andsharing. He has skillfully navigated the complexities of operational workplans, budgets, and program implementation proposals. His proficiency increating informative briefings and presentations has been a cornerstone of hisrole, catering to various visitors and high officials.

His international exposure is marked by two significant UNPeacekeeping missions. From 2005-2006, he contributed as a Logistics Officer inIvory Coast, followed by a pivotal role as the Contingent Commander forBangladesh Logistics in Liberia (2012-2013). These experiences sharpened hislogistics management skills, focusing on surveying, statistics, maintenance,and supply chain optimization. Notably, his survey work in the Ivory Coastgarnered commendable appreciation from his superiors.

Interpersonal and negotiation abilities have been criticalthroughout his military and UN tenure, enabling him to inspire and guide histeam effectively. His command of English, coupled with robust communication,analytical, and writing skills, has consistently enhanced his performance.

The multicultural, often challenging environments of IvoryCoast and Liberia honed his capacity to operate effectively in post-conflictand emergency scenarios. As Contingent Commander, he adeptly managed extensiveoperations, demonstrating resilience and adaptability under pressure.

His involvement in Counter Terrorism Operations in theChittagong Hill Tracts is a testament to my strategic acumen, yieldingsignificant successes. His expertise was further enriched through a course inTerrorism and Security Studies at the George Marshall Centre, Germany, where healso had the honour of being a guest speaker. His research endeavours inCounter Terrorism at the GCMC complement his array of published works,particularly focusing on the Chittagong Hill Tracts, Northeast India, andMyanmar.

Currently, he is advancing his academic journey by pursuinga Ph.D., eager to continue contributing his vast experience and insights toglobal security and peacekeeping initiatives.
