Biography

Saiful Islam is currently working as an Assistant Professor at the Department of Sociology, Bangladesh University of Professionals (BUP). He completed his B.S.S. (Hons.) and M.S.S. (in Sociology) degrees from the Department of Sociology, University of Dhaka, Bangladesh. He joined the Department of Sociology at Bangladesh University of Professionals in 2017. Before joining as an Assistant Professor, he worked as a lecturer at Dhaka International University and Central Women's University. He also worked with several reputed international development organisations. His research focuses on gender, urban sociology, poverty and the political economy of development.
